Message from the Head of the Department

Since ancient times, people have been affected by their own nature and behavior, and have derived many philosophical theses on them. Inquiries about human nature such as motivation, memory, learning, perception, dreams, and mental illnesses have gained different perspectives depending on the evolution of the human mind and societies. Psychology, which has a long background and a short history, has evolved over time as the science of behavior and mental functioning.  It has gained the popularity and respect it deserves with its scientific and research-based contributions to the solution of the increasingly complex problems of our age.

Psychology, as a branch of science that examines the genetic, biological and environmental causes of behavior, focuses on what healthy behavior is, how it develops, and how it occurs in which environments. On the other hand, it deals with how to change or correct unhealthy behaviors.

With the curriculum prepared in accordance with the standards in the Psychology Department of Istanbul Esenyurt University, which has been providing education since 2015, we educate our  students for the business life of psychology with the variety of courses in psychology's sub-fields such as Social, Development, Experimental, Education, Clinical, Sports, Industrial and Organizational Behavior, Forensic Psychology. It facilitates graduates in various specialties. The mission of the Department of Psychology, which aims to reach universal values ​​and has the vision of taking a place in the field as a free, enlightened, competitive, well-known and respected department, is based on student-oriented interactive learning methods, empathic attitudes and behaviors of the instructors, and the personal development and education that students need. To provide a learning climate, to ensure that the university education process is a positive experience, to train human resources equipped with the knowledge and skills of psychology for business life.
