The word digital is used along with the word revolution by many information scientists As a matter of fact, the idea that the digital revolution is the biggest one after the industrial revolution or the Gutenberg revolution, which is described as a leap that changed all mentality structures in human history has gained importance. The pioneers of social media have not only transformed the computer into an improvement machine that will represent the old media in a new way, but also have created new media forms that will provide the opportunity to learn and produce for communication and expression by observing the possibilities provided by the digital computer. At the point reached today, the new media world, which exists through digital communication technologies, namely computer, internet and mobile technologies, has become an indispensable part of today's modern life.
New media has not only transformed traditional professions through digital communication technologies, but also enabled new business models to come to life. As the New Media and Communications Department, we aim to raise young people who are experts in their fields,
who follow the trends in the world, develop creative ideas and have the ability to put them into practice. In this sense, in addition to our theoretical courses that form the basic infrastructure of communication, technical courses such as e-commerce, e-marketing, new media journalism, news writing techniques, content production, digital publishing, photography and video shooting techniques, image and lighting techniques, digital editing, web design and graphic design are given by our academic staff with sectoral experience. As part of the four-year education and training program, our students learn to apply journalism, advertising, public relations and publishing activities through digital platforms, while preparing to work in the sector as new media journalists, digital publishers, content producers and social media managers in line with their career goals.
