About The Department

The Psychology Department, established within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Esenyurt University, started its activities by admitting its first students in the 2015-2016 academic year. The Psychology Department, which produced its first graduates in the 2018-2019 academic year, offers many courses that cover the subfields of psychology. Following the current trends in psychology, Esenyurt University's Psychology Department provides students with new and up-to-date courses by making revisions.

Graduation Requirements

In order to graduate from this program, students must successfully complete all courses, applications, internships, and similar studies listed in the curriculum with a weighted grade point average of at least 2.00.

Professional Profile of Graduates

Our department graduates can work in almost all public institutions, hospitals, and private sector workplaces. They can open private clinics and also work in the human resources departments of companies. Graduates find employment in various environments such as public relations and media, human resources, advertising, marketing, social services, and education. They can also work in civil society organizations, preschool education institutions, and special education institutions with a focus on these areas. There are various institutions that require psychologists, and there are many positions where psychologists can work and be beneficial. Some of these include dialysis centers, nursing homes, preschools and daycares, psychotechnical centers, private and state hospitals with psychiatric units, Forensic Medicine Institution, police stations, police academies, family courts, and juvenile courts under the Ministry of Justice. They can also work in personal development centers, various educational institutions, universities, municipalities, companies, schools and universities, and counseling and guidance units in student dormitories. Graduates with a bachelor's degree in psychology can work as researchers in academic environments, consulting firms, or other institutions. There is a high demand for psychology graduates in the current job market.

Transition to Higher Degree Programs

Those who successfully complete the undergraduate program in this department can pursue a master's and/or doctoral degree in the same field, as well as apply to postgraduate programs in other fields. Candidates who have completed their undergraduate education can enroll in postgraduate programs if they obtain a valid score from the ALES exam, have a sufficient level of English language proficiency, and pass the science exam.
