About The Department

The Department of New Media and Communication, Istanbul Esenyurt University, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences started its activities in the 2019-2020 academic year by taking its first students. The department accepts students with full scholarship, 75 percent and 50 percent scholarship. The Department of New Media and Communication provides 4-year undergraduate education within the faculty. The language of instruction is optional and supported by English for 1 year. Preparatory education is carried out with applied and practical training by our experts in the field. Under the supervision of experienced and valuable academicians, a department that is integrated into the era and aims at innovation has been designed. In line with this goal, many courses covering basic, theoretical and digital media education are included in the curriculum of the department. Practical lessons are given in the radio and television studios within the university. The department is updated with new courses for the developing and constantly updated media sector.

Graduation Requirements

In order to graduate from this program, students must; All courses, applications, internships and similar studies in the curriculum must be successfully completed with a weighted grade point average of at least (2.00).

Occupational Profile of Graduates

Program graduates; they can work in positions such as communication specialist, communication consultant, reporter, editor, broadcast coordinator, editorial director, new media specialist, public relations specialist in different branches of the press-broadcasting, public relations and advertising, digital media sectors and in the communication departments of institutions and organizations. Graduates can apply to positions suitable for their fields in public institutions, as well as to relevant positions in media institutions, with the KPSS (Public Personnel Selection Examination).

Transition to Higher Degree Programs

Those who successfully complete the undergraduate program of this department can apply for a master's and/or doctorate in the same department, as well as to graduate programs in some other fields. Candidates who have completed their undergraduate education can study in graduate programs, provided that they get a valid grade from the ALES exam, have sufficient English language knowledge and pass the science exam.
